YNSECT was founded at the end of 2011 by Antoine Hubert, Jean-Gabriel Levon, Fabrice Berro and Alexis Angot. YNSECT has developed partnerships with major research centers in France and Europe (IFREMER, INRA, CNRS, CEA, AgroParisTech, IRSTEA, Wageningen University…) and coordinates the project DESIRABLE, which was selected and financed by the French National Research Agency. The company is also supported by Bpifrance and Région Île-de-France. The company is also an active member of competitiveness clusters, such as IAR and Vitagora, as well as the expert consultancy committee on insects of the FAO. YNSECT was hosted at the company incubator Agoranov and is the laureate of the 2012 French National Award of Agri-food Startups of Agropole, of the 2013 John Sime Innovation Award at the European Forum of Industrial Biotechnology and of the 2013 National Award of Biotech Startup of Genopole. *
