Dr. Leopold Gruner has joined Stolmár & Partner to further develop the firm's growing pharma and life-sciences team. Leopold comes with a strong background in organic chemistry, biochemistry and genetics and was educated at the Technical University of Dresden where he was awarded a Ph.D. on the subject of "Directed Interface Modifications by Genetically Engineered Surface Active Proteins" which was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
Leopold is a German patent attorney. He started his career in IP in a Dresden based IP law firm. He also spent an internship at the Upper District Court Düsseldorf with Judge Kühnen.
Leopold has recently co-authored a book on procedural aspects under the EPC and PCT.
Leopold will support our pharma and life sciences team with his strong experience in genetical engineering, genetics, biosimilars and biochemistry with a focus on prosecution and opposition cases as well as in the preparation of FTO's and legal opinions.
