Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) today announced the appointment of Henk de Jong as Chief of International Markets and a member of Philips’ Executive Committee, reporting to Philips CEO Frans van Houten. Henk de Jong will succeed Ronald de Jong per April 1, 2017, who was recently appointed as Philips’ Global Head of Human Resources per the same date.

Henk de Jong’s core responsibility will be to drive business development in Philips’ international markets outside of Greater China and North America, with joint accountability with the company's global business leaders for the delivery of market revenue and profitability targets.

Henk de Jong (Dutch, 1964) joined Philips in 1990 and has held a number of leadership roles in the company’s former Consumer Lifestyle businesses. Since 2012, Mr. de Jong has held the position of Philips’ Market Leader in Latin America. Under his leadership, Philips in Latin America has delivered consistent profitable growth despite challenging conditions. Mr. de Jong also successfully led major transformations in the region, establishing a more customer-centered approach in Philips consumer health businesses, as well as a more innovative solutions-based approach in Philips’ professional healthcare businesses.
