Jon Rees, OBN's CEO comments, "OBN is the Membership organisation that supports and brings together the UK's emerging life sciences companies, corporate partners and investors. Our primary focus is to ensure that these life science companies have the tools they need to turn innovative ideas into commercially-viable products. Access to funding is clearly key. As we've grown OBN's membership 50% in the last year to 350 corporate Members, we recognised the need to provide a dedicated resource specifically on networking."

Julie's expertise is in both strategic and tactical delivery. Her interest and specialism is within the diagnostics and medical technology subsector. She brings experience of the culture within both industry and academia through positions at BBI Solutions, part of Alere, as Senior Marketing Manager and with AbD Serotec (formerly MorphoSys UK now BioRad) as Business Development Manager. Most recently, at Imperial College, London, Julie was involved in establishing the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Diagnostic Evidence Co-operative (DEC) London, forming relationships with clinicians, academics, patients, industry, regulatory bodies and the wider NHS. She started her industrial career with Unilever Research and Unipath who sponsored her through both a BSc in Applied Biology and a Management Development Programme.

Julie is based at the OBN office on Milton Park but will also spend time at the Oxford Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) office on the Oxford Science Park as well as visiting Member companies and potential collaborative partners.
