Miltenyi Biotec, a leading global pioneer in cell processing and development of new technology for cell therapy, has purchased Sensovation AG from the previous shareholders of the holding company HeidelbergCapital and KfW/tbg. Sensovation AG in Radolfzell specializes in the design and production of smart imaging solutions for clinical diagnostics and biotechnology.

Founded in 2000, Sensovation AG has become a specialized supplier of digital pathology and multiplex diagnostic systems. At their headquarters in Radolfzell, the company employs around 30 highly-qualified specialists in optics, mechanics, electronics, and software. This acquisition will not only enable Miltenyi Biotec to expand its own product portfolio, but also to further develop the site in Radolfzell and to utilize the specialist skills of the Sensovation team to create new products. Stefan Miltenyi, founder and Managing Director of Miltenyi Biotec said: “We are very much looking forward to working with our new colleagues in Radolfzell, whose expertise in the design and serial production of high-performance diagnostic instrumentation is beyond all doubt.”

Paul Hing, founder and Chairman of Sensovation said: “This takeover will result in an alliance between the Sensovation staff’s long-term experience in the design and production of scientific imaging instrumentation and the medical and diagnostics expertise of Miltenyi Biotec, opening up a whole range of new possibilities in product development.”

Sensovation AG

Sensovation develops and produces intelligent imaging solutions which are used mainly in clinical diagnostics and biotechnology.
