FlexGen - based in the Leiden Bio Science Park in the Netherlands - was founded in December 2004 as a spin off from Leiden University Medical Centre and Dutch Space (part of EADS). Anticipating a rapidly growing genetic research market, FlexGen developed a proprietary technology for synthesizing custom oligonucleotides. The platform is now used for a variety of applications including production of in-solution target enrichment kits, FleXelect.
