Biosynth and Carbosynth announced their merger as a major step in consolidating their positions as leading suppliers in the constantly evolving fine chemical market, where mergers and acquisitions amongst the customer base of both companies have been a regular part of the landscape. Both companies have diverse expertise in organic synthesis and different focuses in their product portfolio of bio-chemicals. Carbosynth is a leader in carbohydrate chemistry, while Biosynth has a wealth of experience with enzyme substrates and has recently attracted much attention with a number of novel chemiluminescence-based compounds. The new company will benefit from having highly skilled employees across the globe and allow an even more rapid response time for customer enquiries and technical support.

Dr. Urs Spitz, President of Biosynth said “Since both companies have a complementary product offering and technical know-how, and have been successfully working together on joint projects, this acquisition seems like a natural progression.”

Dr. Vanessa Eastwick-Field, Managing Director of Carbosynth, added ”We are delighted to join forces and pool resources with Biosynth, who we have known and worked with for many years. They have a proven track record of looking after customers and an extensive line of biomedical products to match their expertise in manufacturing and GMP. This new partnership will enhance the relationship we have with our customers, create a more streamlined and comprehensive product range and allow for even better customer service”.
