Consilium Strategic Communications, a global leader in strategic healthcare communications and investor relations, announces it has strengthened its global team with several significant additions in the US and Europe.

Bolstering Consilium’s senior team on the ground in the US, Fran Carpentier and Mary Conway have been appointed as Strategic Advisors joining Consilium’s already strong team of healthcare strategic advisors and media operators across the US.

In Europe, working from the Company’s headquarters in London, Davide Salvi and Priit Piip have joined as Associates and Kris Lam and Lucie Foster have joined as Account Executives. Ivar Milligan, who previously worked at Consilium from 2013 to 2018, has joined the London office in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.

Fran Carpentier, Strategic Advisor

Fran has spent more than 30 years in the communications industry - first, as a journalist and, later, working at and consulting for leading PR and marketing firms, including FleishmanHillard, BioSector 2, Weber Shandwick, and MSL. She also has worked with pharmaceutical companies, including Novo-Nordisk, Genentech, AbbVie and Helsinn, coaching their corporate communications teams on how to work effectively with the media.

Over the course of her career, Fran has collaborated with leading health reporters, medical experts, research scientists and health leaders, including three U.S. Surgeons General, and she has spearheaded partnerships with government agencies and private organizations, including the National Science Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, and the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Mary Conway, Strategic Advisor

Mary brings approximately 30 years’ experience in strategic communications and media relations to Consilium. Through her career she has supported some of the world’s most significant life sciences companies and led on numerous healthcare campaigns for clients including Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, Pfizer, Bayer, Merck, Allergan and Mylan. Mary has supported discoveries aimed at meeting the needs of patients with rare diseases including progeria, SMA and amyloidosis, as well as lesser talked about conditions such as tardive dyskinesia and hyperhidrosis.

In addition to her work with large healthcare organisations, she has worked with emerging companies and has driven awareness of the science and pre-clinical work of early biotech firms. She has also advised and collaborated with leading nonprofit organizations reinforcing the importance of patient perspectives. Mary has earned a collection of the industry’s highest awards including multiple Healthcare Campaign of Year recognitions, Platinum Hermes Creative Awards, PRNews Agency Elite Awards in Media Relations, and MarCom Platinum Awards, among others. Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.


Davide Salvi, Associate

Davide joined Consilium Strategic Communications in October 2020 as an Associate, after spending five years in financial journalism. His previous position was Healthcare Reporter for Mergermarket, covering M&A in the pharmaceutical, medical and biotech sectors. Before that, Davide was an Assistant Producer for CNBC’s morning shows Squawk Box and Street Signs, where he covered European business news. Davide holds an MA in International Journalism from Cardiff University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Milan.

Priit Piip, Associate

Priit joined Consilium in 2020 having worked in financial PR and investor relations for approximately four years. Previously at St Brides Partners, he advised a number of privately held, AIM and Main market listed international companies across a variety of sectors, including technology, and interacted closely with the financial media. Priit has a degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Tartu in Estonia.

Kris Lam, Account Executive

Kris joined Consilium in 2020 after having worked at an integrated communications agency specialising in financial services; working with global banks, fintechs, and membership organisations. Born and raised in Canada, Kris holds a B.Sc Honours in Neuroscience and Mental Health from Carleton University and an M.Sc Distinction in Strategic Communication from the University of Liverpool.

Lucie Foster, Account Executive

Lucie joined Consilium in October 2020. Prior to joining, she worked in Medical Communications, providing project and financial management support across a range of pharmaceutical clients. Lucie has an MSci (Hons) in Biomedicine specialising in Immunology and Oncology from Lancaster University.

Ivar Milligan, Chief Operating Officer

Ivar previously worked at Consilium from 2013 to 2018 at which point he left the Company to become the Chief Operating Officer and then Chief Executive of the David Nott Foundation, a UK charity delivering specialist training to surgeons in conflict and disaster areas worldwide. He was responsible for implementing and delivering a practical, operational framework for all aspects of employment, risk and crisis management, finance, partnerships, product development and fundraising, in addition to supporting training courses across the Middle East, Africa and South America.

Prior to his five years at Consilium, Ivar served in the British Army for six years as an officer in the Scots Guards, deploying on operations to Afghanistan and managing a Joint Services exploratory ski-mountaineering expedition to Antarctica.
