BioPartner UK, the trade organisation for internationalising life sciences companies in the UK, has appointed Dr Paul Clewlow to its Advisory Board.
Paul is an experienced Executive and Non-Executive Board level operator with a 30-year track record of success within the pharmaceutical industry and oil industry. Until the end of 2020, Paul was an Executive Director at Sygnature Discovery, an integrated drug discovery and pre-clinical CRO, where he had global responsibility for business development, marketing, and sales activities. His key focus was growing the business internationally, particularly in the USA. Paul has been retained by Sygnature as a Non-Executive Director. He is also on the Board of Sygil Group, a drug discovery company, and was previously a Member of the Supervisory Board of Step Pharma, a Paris-based, venture capital-backed biotech company discovering and developing proprietary treatments for haematological cancers and auto-immune diseases. Paul has a BSc (Hons.) in chemistry from the University of Leicester and was awarded a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from Cardiff University. He then undertook post-doctoral research at Arizona State University and at the ETH Zürich.
BioPartner works closely with UK bioscience sector stakeholders including regional networks, national trade associations, and government departments; to promote UK expertise and to provide cost-effective access to overseas events, opportunities, and new markets for UK-based organisations. Paul joins Rachel Hemsley, Paul Cronin, Alasdair Stamps, Will Watson, Dave Mead, and Hakan Goker.
