In 2019 Air Liquide created a unique biobanking network with biobanks in Italy, France and Germany under the umbrella of BioKryo to support sample management of clinical trials.

The GMP compliant biobanks store the biological material e.g. in the vapor phase of Liquid Nitrogen or at -80 °C in Freezer. The biobanks of this network – CryoPal in Paris, France, Isenet-biobanking in Milano, Italy, and BioKryo in Sulzbach, Germany – can store samples up to BSL II, e.g., diagnostic samples from Covid-19 patients in separated storage compartments.

This service includes all kind of logistics support as well as provision of dry ice, packing or dry shippers.

About BioKryo

BioKryo is a service partner in cryoconservation and enables companies to outsource the storage of cell-line back-ups or even the sample management of entire biobanks. BioKryo is specialized in the storage of different study and therapeutic samples with diverse temperature requirements.

BioKryo GmbH is authorized for storage of cyropreserved samples according to § 20c and § 52a of the German Drug Law, which is proof for the GMP-compliant service. Furthermore, we are approved by the Ministry of Environment of the Saarland for the storage of genetically modified organisms (GMO) up to bio safety level 2 as well as the storage of infectious samples. Since 2013, BioKryo GmbH is certified by ISO 9001:2015 and since 2016 by AABB for blood banks.
