The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has become the latest Partner to join forces with One Nucleus.

Both the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and One Nucleus are committed to playing an active and supportive role in assisting in the success of the life sciences community.

The One Nucleus mission is to help enable its member companies to be globally competitive. A key element of supporting their members in achieving such competitiveness includes enabling access to first class intelligence, science and contacts. Such support provides businesses with the best possible opportunity to grow and further develop timely and effective strategies for success.

Dr Martin Dougherty, COO of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Wellcome Genome Campus explained, “We are delighted to partner with One Nucleus, which has its heart in Europe’s largest life science and healthcare cluster. At the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute we aim to ensure our world class scientific research is brought to the clinic, and the conversations and interactions that One Nucleus fosters will help us to achieve that.

“These are immensely exciting times for genomics research for the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and for the Wellcome Genome Campus but above all, with the support of One Nucleus, for biomedicine in this region.”

Harriet Fear, CEO of One Nucleus said, “Our Partner Programme is a bespoke package of support and collaboration between One Nucleus and larger organisations who are central to the success of the life science sector. I am delighted that the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has become a One Nucleus Partner and is involved in a range of our activities and vice versa.

This includes the Institute being an official supporter for our annual translational conference ON Helix this year, at the newly refurbished Wellcome Trust Conference Centre. One Nucleus is looking forward very much to supporting the Institute with its future direction of travel”.

About the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute

The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute is one of the world's leading genome centres. Through its ability to conduct research at scale, it is able to engage in bold and long-term exploratory projects that are designed to influence and empower medical science globally. Institute research findings, generated through its own research programmes and through its leading role in international consortia, are being used to develop new diagnostics and treatments for human disease.

About the Wellcome Genome Campus

The Wellcome Genome Campus is a 125-acre estate south of Cambridge near Hinxton village. It is home to the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory’s European Bioinformatics Institute, the Centre for Therapeutic Target Validation and a number of spin-off companies. We will shortly also be joined by Genomics England as they direct the 100,000 Genomes project, with their sequencing supplier Illumina housed in our brand new sequencing building.

Spring 2016 will see the opening of the Biodata Innovation Centre, enabling a growing number of commercial sector collaborators to join the Campus community, supporting our shared vision of delivering life changing science.
